Ambassador has been formed by a combination of organic growth and acquisition of local Cambridge Letting Agents.
In December 1995 Graham Clarke left Bidwells, chartered surveyors, having spent 8 years expanding their residential letting department.
He set up Clarkes Residential, his own Letting Agency, operating from his home in Great Wilbraham. Between 1996 and 1999, he built up Clarkes Residential into a portfolio of properties.
In January 2000 he purchased Cambridge Accommodation Bureau, and took over both the rental of their office at 54 Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge, and the name of Cambridge Accommodation Bureau (retaining Clarkes Residential for other professional work such as Buy-to-Let, refurbishments, valuations, & consultancy).
In March 2000 he purchased Ambassador Property Management. At this point the name of AMBASSADOR was incorporated into the letting agency.
In 2003 the continued expansion of AMBASSADOR was furthered by relocating the office to larger premises at 218 Cherry Hinton Road, having carried out extensive refurbishment and improvement works to both the building and car parking and upgrading the IT & Telephone systems to the best available standards, Ambassador acquired Eurolet (Cambridge). This was the largest of the three Cambridge letting agencies purchased, increasing the total portfolio of Ambassador’s properties in letting & management to in excess of 500.
The staffing in Winter 2007/8 comprises: Managing Partner, Financial Controller, four Property Managers, two Communication Managers, a Client Accounts Manager and two Property Inspectors. The portfolio has increased to 600 properties.
